I think OP has hooked me, I'd been reluctant to start this show due to its length but after giving it a try I really like it.

This arc has been really really good, especially the characters. One shot that really got me was at around 21:53, where it shows the crew with a big hole in the ship in the back. I think that hole is representative of Sanji. Literally yeah it's just a hole but figuratively Sanji is an integral part of Baratie, and him leaving leaves a void in the restaurant itself.

Another thing I really enjoyed was Gin's whole character, and how he contrasted with Sanji. I felt that they were two very similar people who found themselves on different paths not due to their own choices but rather due to the people they found themselves following. Zeff had an understanding of what is right (example being giving kid Sanji all of their food when they were stranded) and what he wants to be like. Don Krieg ambitions on the other hand seem not to deepen beyond just being the strongest. This simple and IMO selfish goal leads his followers to have a similar outlook. Despite Gin showing compassion to Sanji, I think him still siding with Don Krieg to an extent shows us he is neither completely good nor bad. I think Gin could've ended up as a better person if he hadn't been led by a bad dude. I hope Gin will show up later in the show so we can see some more progress.
